Morning pill or birth control?

I took the morning after pill 4th of July after unprotected sex and 6 days later I got my period. I'm now on cycle day 8 and still bleeding with pure red blood. Sunday I thought it went away because the there was no blood and the day before that it was light brown like it was over than I had sex and instantly started bleeding again. It feels like a new period, could this be from the morning after pill? Or is it from my birth control that I just started 8 days ago, the same day I got my period?
