TTC for a first timer!

Still early, but we're entering into month 3 of TTC, and the first two months have resulted nothing. I started taking prenatals just today, but I'm not sure what else to do/try! There are so many things on the internet that I just can't tell fact from fiction. I wanted to give it 6 months before we went to a doctor but my fiancé is pushing to go to the doctor now to make sure everything is in working order. Suggestions? Tips? Tricks? What is the secret? I already feel a lack of confidence and I don't want to wish any bad mojo on us!
