How much money did you give your sibling on their wedding day as a gift?

Obviously if you are single it would be different than if you have 3 kids and a partner. But how much did you give as your wedding gift?

Did you give more because it was your sibling? Than if it was a friend?

Yea. Neither of my siblings gave me anything. I probably wouldn't give more then like 50 bucks...

For friends,  we usually give ~$150 pp.  For closer friends and family,  when's to give more.  For close family,  $1000,  and my sibling counts as close family.  At least that's how our families do it.  We didn't even have a wedding,  just City Hall.

Well I usually give $150 per person to pay for the meal but if it's siblings I would give a lot more because they are my closest.

If I'm going to a 7 course dinner with unlimited beer and wine I would be paying at least $150 pp anyways so it doesn't bother me one bit giving enough to cover for what they pay.

Lesley making your bridesmaids pay  for their dresses is a bit odd? You ask them to be in your wedding party but they have to pay their own way?

So the opposite of my thinking that guests should pay their own way and give what they think it costs atleast. I would also never think bridesmaids or groomsmen should be made to pay a cent. They should give apprpriatley in the gift department though.

Likely like $50 assuming I had siblings. With or without a spouse and/or kids. I've got bills to pay and would have to pay for the outfit I am wearing, hotel, etc.

If they didn't like it oh well, not my problem.

They can pay for their own wedding! I'd get a voucher of $50-100 if they're lucky because that's normal here. 
When I got married we asked for vouchers for an appliance store to buy our fridge/freezer/washing machine etc...

I got a $25 dollar gift card for amazon from my sister... ive never gone to a wedding with the expectation of giving a gift. I dont expect them. Id rather just buy a gift than give money anyways.
