Yeast infection??

Ok ladies, although I've never had a yeast infection, I'm almost positive I have one. Itchy with white yucky discharge but it's not a heavy discharge. I bought the equate brand 3 dose monostat treatment. Would it be OK for me to start the meds without consulting with my dr?

Yes, but if the monistat doesn't work, you might need to see a doctor. Look into a QUALITY probiotic. If they don't need refrigeration then they aren't quality. A health food co op should have a refrigerator with them in them and one that says "vaginal heath" on them. It's just a really good idea to use a full bottle of these after an infection to make sure the vaginal flora is balanced.

I read that you should go to your doctor if you think you have yeast infection for the first time as it could be something else.

Yes start them the dr will tell you that's the only you can do to treat them.... I always get them during pregnancy
