How to bring baby home?

Question

Not to sound stupid or anything but im a first time mom and wanted to know how baby comes home. I know they go in the car seat in the car but from the hospital to the car, from the car into the home etc. Do we carry him out in a carrier or does the hospital let you carry them in your arms? What do most hospitals tell you to do or recommend so baby is safe. Thanks!

Here in the Uk we just put baby in car seat and carry to the car then from car to house 😊

During my stay I remember them saying you could not carry baby in your arms at all, like after birth you can push them in there little bassinets but could not just carry around unless in your room. Also I believe they have to check that you have a car seat, before you leave so baby must leave in car seat. This was my experience here in CA but I would check with hospital.

I think every hospital had their own rules.. at my hospital they don't allow carseats inside.. they carry you out in wheel chair with the baby in your arms and they just stay to make sure you have a carseat and have installed it right and have buckled the baby properly also.. after you leave the hospital you can do whatever you want with your child lol.. you can carry him into your home in your arms or carseat or stroller or carrier or whatever 😚

The hospital told us to leave the car seat in the car, that we would not be allowed to put baby in it in the hospital and carry him out that way. Someone from the hospital pushed me in a wheelchair to the car while I held baby. She never looked to make sure I had a car seat or anything.

My car seat had a carrier so we put her in that in the hospital room and then they brought a large wheelchair big enough for me and the baby carrier next to me and the nurse pushed me to the door and my fiance met us there and took the carrier and we walked to the car he had pulled up to the curb. We took her inside in her carrier too.

I carried my baby in my arms to the car then placed him in a capsule. My hospital was not strict at all.
