I need some advice

I am about 3 weeks late for my period. I took a pregnancy test one week after and it looked like something was there. So I waited a few days and took a digital clear blue test and it said not pregnant. That was almost a week ago and still nothing. I'm so confused after trying for over a year it's all I'm doing anymore and I'm close to giving up. Any advice?
