Possible labor

I need opinions ladies I went to the doc today and he checked my cervix told me I was only 1 cm dilated I'm officially 38 weeks today. I have been lower abdominal cramping all day today along with some pain my lower back. After my appointment I noticed that I lost my mucus plug which I know doesn't mean labor is starting. But I have started to have some bleeding which I know happens after checks but there was clots and the cramping has seemed to gotten worse. I called my doc and he said as long as baby is moving it should pass but I'm freaking out is it possible that labor is starting and that's why all this is happening and I should just wait out until I can't handle the cramping anymore or should I go get checked out?
