full bladder for ultrasound??

I have my first ultrasound tmrw and was wondering if you need a full bladder? I'm almost positive you do but I don't have time to call before my appointment! better safe than sorry, right?! the worst that could happen is i pee myself 😂😂

I was told to go with a full bladder! Right when you get there they will probably make you pee in a cup then go in for ultrasound

If your less than 10 weeks then go with an empty bladder because they have to do transvaginal and it has to be empty... if your more than 10 weeks they can try abdominal and then you need full bladder

I'll be 6-7 weeks Aug 3rd and they told me come with full bladder for my ultrasound!

I would go with a full bladder I went for my 5week 5 day ultrasound and she tried to do an abdominal one (which I didn't think she would, so I didn't drink all that water) so she ended up doing a transvaginal which is what I expected anyway. So just in case go with a full bladder you can always empty it before the trans vaginal. Good luck!

How far along are you? If its your first ultrasound it's usually a transvaginal ultrasound and you don't need to drink water before that.

If you're early in the pregnancy you will have it transvaginally, in this case you don't need full bladder. If they are going on your belly, it's better to have a bladder little full, but no need to be uncomfortable!

Source : I went today for a u/s at 8w4d, the tech told me that. She tried on belly but it didn't look great,  I just emptied my bladder and Im not thin on this part :-)

Uhhhhh I don't know why people think you need a full bladder. They tell you to pee before you go in. Just had mine today.

My instructions say like 5 cups (I can't remember right now) 1.5 hours before the ultrasound and then to hold it 😩 sounds like it'll be a great time haha.
