Blood instead of Milk [Warning: BLOODY PIC]

Hi. I need help.

After giving birth via emergency C-section, I wasn't allowed to breastfeed due to severe inflammation of my parotid (salivary) glands. The inflammation may be due to the premedication of steroids prior to the given spinal anesthesia to prevent severe allergic reactions or to some virus lurking in the hospital. I had mumps as a child so its not the mumps "mumps"; but, doctors wanted to make sure that I won't infect my Baby Boy.

Then, since he was NICU for a week, and I had to go home earlier by three days, I got so depressed that I didn't pump.

When he finally got home, I started pumping irregularly as I just would like to embrace my child after the long separation. But, Im pumping out blood.

I tried hand expressing; but, no milk.

Lumps are also forming.

Now, his pedia doesn't want me to feed him again; so, it's either i pump (blood) or hand express (no milk). OB wanted me to feed him since his better at removing milk; but, I don't want to risk

Should I continue pumping since I am having lumps now even if its blood?????
