Big baby?

Question

Does a big baby necessarily mean gestational diabetes? Our baby boy was weighing in at almost 2 lbs at 24 weeks. And the tech and dr said hes pretty big. But im 5'10" and daddy is 6'1" we are both "big" people. My friend said I must have gestational diabetes because hes big but my dr didnt express any concern. I wanna know what others think?

Taller people usually *not always* have bigger babies, that's genetics at play. 
That being said, my first was almost 11 lbs and I was 2.5 weeks overdue. I'm only 5'6" and my babies birth father is 5'9". Never had gestational diabetes. 
Fast forward to my current pregnancy - he is measuring almost a month ahead and no GD here. Just a big boy. 💙

I have a big boy too! He measures five weeks ahead and I'm 30 weeks along now. No GD here.

No it doesn't mean that. My baby is big and I have been tested and don't have it. Don't listen to people, ask your doctor!  👍
