Getting the Skyla , what to expect?

Getting it tomorrow. What should I expect? Does it hurt? I've heard good and bad stories.

I got my skyla on the 13th. I worked myself up so bad that I was almost crying before I got in there. My doctor gave me this pill to take the night before and the morning of to help soften my cervix. Keep in mind this was the first time any doctor had ever been down there or anything. There was pressure when she went to open up my actual vagina. Then she told me when she got to one to cough. So she started counting down then I got a very very sharp pain. After that she said that there was going to be a little pinch. Then we was done. I got super light headed and I took some medicine for the pain before and after my visit. But I was able to drive myself home and cuddle up in my bed and watch tv. Needless to say, I've had very heavy spotting on some days. Then I'm about to start my period so some random cramps. But nothing to to bad. You're gonna do great!

With my other though it felt like a period cramp. Take some pain killers before insertion

I just got my Skyla yesterday. I was very nervous because they were explaining that it would hurt much more because I have not had children. The doctor kept telling me that if it hurt too much or I felt like I was going to pass out to tell her to stop. But honestly, it was not that bad. I have had period cramps much worse. I went home and took some Advil and continued on with the rest of my day. I had some mild cramping for the first half hour, and the cramping returned when I got in bed to go to sleep, but nothing too bad. Today I've had some cramping occasionally but it's not even as bad as a normal period. I've also had very minimal bleeding.

You'll definitely feel a cramp while inserting. Take some pain killers and rest. That's what helped me
