How much mucus plug can you lose?!

I lost a ton of pinkish mucus plug yesterday which to me was a lot!! I get up this morning and I'm still losing a ton! My goodness how much can one lose? And can this last for days?

Saw the doctor yesterday I'll be 39 weeks on Monday.. He said I would be going into labor most likely yesterday and I didn't.. I'm hoping today is the day! Anyways he said everything is good and I'm 80% effaced and 2cm dilated.. (Note: this is my second child)

I don't think it should be much. With my second daughter it was not much.

How far along are you? Mucus plug can keep regenerating and that can be why you're losing what seems like a lot.

So it's a sign of labor just like my friend before a day from the labor she had discharge with blood so it's coming soon. How many weeks you are ??

Pinkish mucous sounds like your bloody show which is usually a sign labor is just a few days away. 
But you can lose mucous plug pieces at any point and your body makes more, so early on it can just keep happening. But hopefully labor is on the way for you!!
