What would you do?

So I have a 5 year old son, who is vaccinated. My husband and I did tons of research, watched documentaries, and got lots of patience and advice from our amazing pediatrician. I'm now 19 weeks pregnant with our second baby, and I just found out yesterday that my brother (only sibling) and his wife have decided that they will not be vaccinating their 5 month old baby...ever. I want our kids to be super close, but I've heard so many mixed stories from both sides. How would you approach this situation??

Very carefully! I wouldn't expose my child to theirs until mine was fully vaccinated.

Once your own kids are vaccinated there won't be an issue they can be as close as they want.

What anti-vaxxers don't seem to realise is that the less people vaccinate, the less herd immunity works, so their kids won't be protected by the vaccinated kids.

Just because his children aren't vaccinated doesn't mean they automatically carry around disease.  
Don't forget that whole colonies in the US don't vaccinate (i.e. Amish) and the public is around them a lot.

Also, if you make sure your children are vaccinated and up to date on their boosters you and your child will be fine!! Don't stress!

I dealt with this in the last year with a close friend. Our children are 8 weeks apart, and didn't meet until after my son had his 6 month shots. It worked out for us that they were fall babies, I just said we didn't go out a lot in the winter.

If I were you, I'd talk to my pediatrician about it. I believe that if your child is vaccinated, their risk of catching something awful is lowered, but some vaccines are given in stages (like 3 shots over several months), so then they're not completely protected in the meantime. I personally don't plan to allow my child to regularly play with unvaccinated kids, but if it were my baby's cousin, I might change my mind. Best of luck!

Well, your children will still be vaccinated, so they'll be safe from anything... His kids however will be exposed to the diseases that could have been prevented!
