I just read an article saying breastfeeding is an effective birth control for the first six months after delivery is this true? I have speculations about BC because I heard it could mess with my milk supply but momma doesn't wanna get pregnant right away

No it's not i breastfeed my daughter around the clock, on demand, always have. No solids, she co sleeps and nurses all night and here I sit 9 weeks pregnant with a 5 month old. My doctor told me breastfeeding is great birth control. 😡 these two will be less than a year apart.

I wouldn't rely on it as birth control. I'm on the mini pill and it hasn't caused my supply to drop. Maybe try something like that and immediately stop if you notice a drop in supply?

Exclusive breast feeding is natural birth control, but the length of time that it prevents fertility varies by woman. It can range from a few months to over a year, depending. (For example: My nephew is 16 months old and my sister still hasn't gotten her period/fertility back, and have a friend whose came back at 4 months.) 
Even if you plan to go back to birth control, reading up on some different Natural Family Planning methods can help you recognise your body's signs of fertility. A lactation specialist would also be a great resource to answer your questions. 😊
