Is it bad to watch porn?

I'm a Christian and I want to wait to I'm married to have sex, but I started to watch porn to get some relief. Is it a bad thing to do? I usually feel bad but then I continue to watch and get off.

I understand, I'm in the same boat. And I can't help but feel so guilty. Thankfully I've stopped and haven't watched it in a couple weeks. But I honestly think it is wrong. God calls us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). In Hebrews 13:4, God says "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure..." If you truly are waiting until marriage to have sex, think about why that is. Why does God want us to wait? Marriage is holy. Sex isn't bad, it's so so special. So special and intimate that we want to share it with one person, our spouse. They deserve all the honor. And waiting for marriage honors not only our spouse but our God too. I feel like watching porn cheats us out of that. And for what? Ephesians 5:3 calls it greed. These words are really hurtful to hear, even for me. But they're necessary.

The good news is that there is redemption. Yes, our flesh aches and aches. Sometimes It's really hard to let our spiritual desires overcome our carnal desires. But with the power of Christ, even the impossible is possible. Remember, you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:14). My favorite verse that's been helping me is 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

So yeah, God may not be proud of us watching porn, but he STILL loves us regardless and can help us out of it. God is faithful even when we are faithless. I love Him so much.

I really like what Cynthia said. In addition, from a pragmatic perspective, regular consumption of porn can rewire your brain so that certain visual stimulation is the only thing that can arouse you. This can affect your future sex life negatively.

The porn industry is also deeply rooted in human trafficking so you'll want to watch what you support.

From a Christian perspective, porn does nothing to humanize or connect people. It is a completely detached experience. We use the person on the screen to satisfy our own physical desires. I don't think there's anything spiritually healthy or Christ-like about that.

I know what it's like to be where you are, but I think you have to decide if your goal is to follow a rule (no sex before marriage) or to be more like Christ in all ways.

I mean, honestly read what the bible says, pray about it, and decide. It says "FLEE from sexual immorality" and also to watch what you take in. Watching sex is only heightening your sex drive and curiosity. It's already conditioning you to be okay with seeing sexual things, so honestly yes it is. But whether or not you do it is up to you. Fully committed to being pure or making compromises?

Porn will keep you from having sex 😂😂😂sex isn't good enough to need to do it or have a want for it right away. Or at least that was my case when I was still a virgin. And after. Sex is more for bonding in my case.
