Off my meds and on the Mood Swing
So, I'm going in for surgery tomorrow (Tuesday). It's nothing serious. But when the registration nurse called me on Thursday, she told me to immediately stop taking all medications that I am on. That includes some meds that I'm not supposed to just stop taking.
Since Thursday, I haven't taken my birth control, my anxiety medication, my hypothyroid medication, or my insulin resistance medication. Because of this, I have been extremely lightheaded and nauseous, my period is going to be all sorts of fucked up, and I have been riding the emotional roller coaster nonstop.
Did I possibly misunderstand the nurse? Has anyone else been told to stop taking all medication almost a week in advance?
I feel like it would be pointless to call the hospital for clarification at this point because I go under the knife tomorrow. I just don't know for sure if I was supposed to stop ALL MEDS cold turkey like that...?
