Gel manicures?

I really haven't gotten my nails done (I think maybe 2 regular manicures, and a few pedicures) so far, but my baby shower is on Sunday and I don't want my nails to chip so I was thinking of going with a gel manicure. Does anyone know if gel manicures are safe to get during pregnancy? I'm not sure if this matters but I am 26 weeks. Thanks!! 😄

I've had mine done multiple times during my pregnancy and I've had no issues! Doctor said its fine as long as there's proper ventilation. I always turn the mini fan on at the nail station 😊

It doesn't matter. A manicure is a manicure. It's on your nails it's not going into your body. If it's a big place and the fumes don't bother you the your completely fine.

I've been doing gel manicures myself for years and have continued throughout my pregnancy... typically reapply every 2-3 weeks.   I've never even thought of it being a problem :/

I got a gel manicure a few weeks ago for a friend's wedding. From what I read, it wasn't so much an issue with the application as it is the removal where they have to soak your nails in acetone. I was worried, so I ended up picking mine off. My nails are still in rough shape. :/
