Still Swaddling??

Question

Anyone else still have to swaddle their LO every night in order to sleep? Her arms are constantly moving and stretching and hitting herself in the face and waking herself up if I don't and she doesn't sleep! Also having a terrible time transitioning to crib.  Any tips? Am I alone? How long is it a good idea to swaddle every night before it becomes a problem?

I swaddle my LO and he's ok with it as long as he's drowsy when I do it. He always wakes up fighting to get out of it. I have to put him in it otherwise he doesn't sleep because he's constantly rubbing his face and pulling his paci out. I want so bad to not have to put him in it because he seems to hate it more and more but I'm struggling to get a 2hr stretch of sleep out of him now a days. He was sleeping 4 or 5hrs in a row. Idk what to do. I'm so exhausted I could just cry.

Swaddling is fine until they show signs of trying to roll over. Then they need to at least have their arms free in case they roll over during the night. Until then, just go with what works! I believe the startle reflex can stick around until 3-4 months or so, so a lot of babies still benefit from swaddling till then.

Fwiw, my baby is still swaddled for every sleep. She's 11 weeks and shows zero signs of wanting to roll over.

We're still swaddling at 12 weeks. I bought him the Love to Dream 50/50 Transition swaddle to eventually transition him out of it, but we only use it for naps so far. We're still using the Velcro swaddle at night because my son is sleeping through the night with it and I don't want to mess with a good thing.

Try letting your LO nap in the crib during the day if you haven't already tried that.

My daughter hates swaddlers because she wants to kick those legs. I switched to a Halo wrap and did the cry it out method for just 2 days and worked like a charm, I now get my whole bed to myself lol

As soon as I started dressing my babe in footie pajamas instead of swaddling he started sleeping through the night! Every baby is different, but it certainly seemed to make a huge difference for us!

My baby hates tp be swaddled. Hwr hands would constantly wake her up now we have her sleep on her stomach and she no longer wakes her self up

I think it's fine to swaddle until they start rolling over. I'm not sure though. Our little one hates being swaddled so we don't do it. We haven't swaddled since he was born (we only did it a few nights before realizing we were better off not doing it). He just got used to hitting himself in his sleep and it doesn't wake him up anymore.
