Secondhand smoke rant

So when our daughter was 3-4 weeks old my sister in law and brother in law came into town for a weekend. I hate smoking because I get sick at the smell. Anyways they smoke like trains and my daughter being so small and the risks of SIDS I told my husband they could not hold her. They never said anything and acted like it was fine. Now a month later she went crying to my FIL about how it broke it her heart that she couldn't hold her niece. I'm rolling my eyes. I was the exact same way with my first daughter and she knows it not to mention my second daughter is my rainbow baby so I'm a little over protective I don't think I'd forgive myself if something ever happened to her. Yes my sister in law will be able to hold her eventually but not while she's this small. Thank goodness they live 3 hours away and hardly ever come out this way.
