Membrane stripped?

Has anyone had this done? Does it hurt? My doctor offered it cause im over my due date but im wondering if anyone has had exprerience with getting it done and can offer some words..

It's not really painful it's more so uncomfortable but it's fairly quick and if it helps get things going with baby and your past your due date it's worth a try because typically natural labor is better and less painful then induced labor. If you go to much passed your due date your doctor will have to put in an order for induction

Got it done with my last child. Had it done 3 times total.  First 2 times was the female doc. A lil uncomfortable but nothing major. A few cramps and spotting and I was back to normal by the end of the day. 3rd time was at my 38 week appointment and was the male doc. Boy did that one hurt. His fingers were fatter and longer so he really got in there. Only hurt for the 20 seconds they do it then that pain was over. Started having contractions within the hour and back at L&D within 3 hours. Had my daughter at 1:30AM later that night/next morning. I'd recommend it if your body is already ready. Good luck.

I got it done, spotted and cramped for a while and that was it. My midwife did warn me that I wasn't very dilated and it may not be a good strip, though. If you're dilated enough, it can really help.
