If it was darker and then got lighter over the course of days then I would say it was chemical. That happened to me over the weekend but mine got even darker than that over the course of three days, then it disappeared and I got my period.

From 8/3 to 8/4 its faint and looks lighter

Here is 7/31 and 8/2. You can tell it got darker.
