Long distance.

okay so I need some advice. my boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years and it's my 18th birthday on Sunday but I moved out of state about a month ago for college. We're only four hours apart so coming to visit shouldn't be a huge problem but my boyfriend's parents refuse to let him come see me for my 18th birthday. I have no friends here so without him I'll be spending my birthday completely alone and he's told his parents that but they won't let him come see me. is there anything I can do? do you guys think he should just tell them that's he's going to visit me anyway?
