Can I get an STI?

Question

Alrighty so, me and the boy I'm dating both lost our virginity to each other, so as of right now, (not talking about the future) is it possible for me to get an STI if neither of us has had sex with anyone else? I've been wondering this for a long time and no one has given me a clear answer.

Possible, since they are transmitted through more than just sex. Not likely I don't think. I would get checked anyway

Some diseases that are classed as STIs, such as hepatitis and HIV can be passed through other means, blood and bodily fluid. I had hepatitis C, and it wasn't from a sexual partner. My mother had t so I probably got it from her somewhere down the line. There's no harm in getting checked

You can get stuff like coldsores. I don't know how medically correct this is but my sister recently (she's 36) had herpes. She has been married for 12 years and neither has cheated. However she had a coldsore on her mouth and he obviously kissed her then went down there. That's what they believe is the link to the herpes.
