Period after ectopic

So i just stopped bleeding about 7 days ago from the shot i had to abort a 5week ectopic pregnancy. For the last 2-3days ive been feeling sick n i work up today in pain. I've heard that the first period after is usually pretty bad/pain but my doctors haven't told me anything. Any advice from someone who went through this or who has bad periods n can offer some pain reducing home remedies.

Ive been in bed since 9am with bad cramping that goes down into my legs.
