Work relationship

Well there is this guy that works with me that I met last summer. We hit it off last year but things faded because it was a summer job and we went our separate ways. This summer we worked together again and and his father also works with us and his dad has been saying things like he wants me and his son to be together and that I'm the girl for him. I'm not gone lie I REALLY like his son and I want it to work but the last time we were together alone things didn't go well. I didn't have much to say like it was quite the whole time so I left. We both leave to go back to school in two weeks and we have to make a decision if we're going to try the long distance thing. But what can I do to let him know that I do like him and that I want this to work even if we are far apart and that there won't be anyone else? If his dad thinks it can work how can I prove it to him? Please help!!!!!
