What to do when baby will only sleep in ways that violate SIDS rules?

We've tried everything.  Crib, bassinet next to bed, rock n play, swing, and white noise.  She will only sleep while being held which is dangerous because we can't help but fall asleep.  She sleeps best when on her side, next to me.  I'm at a loss.

You do what's best for you! I co-sleep/bed share whatever you want to call it...this is baby #3 and it's what works for us. I became hyper aware of my surroundings when LO#1 was born. I understand the whole omg my baby will die cuz such and such says to do things a certain way...but not all babies are the same. All 3 slept/sleep on their tummies for nap and I can't lay with them.

Bed sharing is normally safe, just nothing near his face. Safely bed shared with 3 kids now

That way is how my son sleeps. On his side. In my arms. And when he's hungry his rooting wakes me up and I feed him.

I've bed shared with both my LOs.  My little girl now snuggles up beside me laying on her side and she is out! We both def sleep best like this!  Maternal instinct seems to kicks in and you don't move a muscle! I wouldn't worry about!

I have co-slept with all three kids. It's what works for us. If he fusses or moves or anything I wake immediately. It's just instinct. Your fine sleeping with baby. Just make sure your pillows won't slide anywhere and the blanket isn't over babies head. I used my pregnancy pillow as a shield or guard so he won't roll away from me.

My son slept with me til 6 months and my daughter will do the same. I honestly wouldn't worry too much about it.

If that's what works for you then do it. I bed share/co-sleep with my lil man (9 weeks). I gave up stressing about him sleeping in his bassinet, he hates lying flat (suspected silent reflux) and being away from me.  I prefer this way because I wake up when he moves and I can check on him throughout the night and know he's safe. Feeding is great (don't have to get out of bed) & everyone sleeps well. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty, I gave up feeling bad about it, I prefer to be rested and sane.

Are you swaddling? I had this problem and bought the miracle blanket off amazon for 26$. He has slept on his own on bassinet and now in crib since!

I bed share with my lo. He sleeps next to me or on my chest. The first night home I put him in his bassinet on his backline youre "supposed" to do and it just felt wrong. I obviously take some common sense measures to make sure he's safe but I too am hyper aware of him. He sleeos great, and hubby and I do too!

Honestly I would do research on safely co sleeping with your baby... just make sure you're doing it the safest way possible because it's no good if no one is sleeping
