How and When do you do kick counts?

I never actually did this with my first one. Please advise

I didn't do them with either of my pregnancies and I wasn't told to either... maybe it's when you don't feel babe for a while you do it.

I don't even bother truthfully, because my son is not  consistent with kicks and does it when he feels like it. He definitely like to move around though and is active. It entertaining seeing my tummy going from one side to the next with him rolling around.

You are supposed to do them starting in the third trimester. You are not supposed to wait until baby is not moving to start doing them. The point of kick counts is for you to get to know your babies daily pattern of movement so you will recognize if it changes drastically.

I have an anterior placenta so the days where I feel him moving a lot i don't bother. But from 28 weeks I started doing kick counts on the days where I can't feel him move.

Lay on your back, and wait. Sometimes I eat/drink something he'll react to. Caffeine or salt.
Doctor said to press slightly on my stomach to feel him kicking into the placenta. 10 in 2 hours used to be the standard. But now she said it was 10 in one day.

My doctor told me to but my son moves so much that I gave up on it. I have done it here and there when he seems more slow or like maybe I'm questioning if he's moved enough. But basically you just sit or lay somewhere quiet and count every movement. It isn't just kicks it's everything.

I don't do it. My doctor never told me to. As long as I feel the baby moving/kicking a few times throughout the day I'm good.
