Too many ultrasounds?

Anybody worried about the effects of the ultrasounds? I have had 4 and I'm 13 weeks. I had 2 dating scans (baby was too small the first time), the NT scan, and had a scan today because I have been having pains. I have a private one scheduled for the 31st to find out the sex, but now I'm worried about having too many. Thoughts?

My question is how are you affording all of them? Only 2 are covered under my insurance, so that's all they want to do throughout the pregnancy, unless something goes wrong.

I had a zillion ultrasounds due to complications. Baby is here and is fine. It uses soundwaves, it's not toxic.

I worry about it just because it's a newer technology that hasn't been studied very in depth. To me it comes down to why are you getting them....medically necessary or not. We declined our third trimester ultrasound because it really wasn't necessary.
