Admin Note: Prejudice

Glow

When discussing issues on Controversy Corner, please keep in mind that the Glow Community rules prohibit comments and posts of a racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic nature. We recognize that few people ever think their comments, no matter how outrageous, are ever prejudiced. However, if your posts and comments are being removed, please consider that the Glow Community may not be the right venue to express those opinions.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, however, in the interest of keeping this an inclusive and welcoming community to people from all walks of life, there are some lines and boundaries that must be respected.

The Glow Community contains incredibly diversity. It is important to remember that the audience for any of your posts or comments may be coming from almost any background. This is why respecting the rules is important. Just as there are certain things you wouldn't walk into somebody's house and say, no matter what your opinion, comments of a prejudiced nature should not be aired on the Glow Community*.

*This applies outside of controversy corner, too! Think of what a mom who can't breastfeed would feel about a post saying that anyone who can't breastfeed shouldn't have kids. Awful, right? (and it would be deleted by an admin!) But at the same time, the person arguing that would *never* walk into the house of the mom who can't breastfeed and say it to her face....even if she still privately thought that. When you post on the Glow Community, you are essentially walking into the house of everyone who reads it, and it's important to respect that. We're all reading the Community on devices we carry into every moment of our lives. There are few things more personal. So, again: there are things you just don't say here, even if you believe them.
