Severe Cramping 4 days after AF

So AF left on Friday and on Tuesday I started having extreme cramping and my body was very achy. I thought it would go away, but here it is Thursday and I'm still having cramps. During sex last night it kinda hurted due to me cramping so it wasn't the most enjoyable for me. I went to my obgyn yesterday and she gave me an ultrasound and said the pain/cramps are probably from my eggs developing on my ovaries (b/c she could see the eggs) I asked her was I ovulating and she stated its impossible to ovulate right after AF, that you can only ovulate right before AF, but you can always ovulate sooner than what you thought. So does anyone else experience extreme cramping right after AF? And being that she saw my eggs developing/getting ready to drop yesterday, when is the best time to have sex? Next week or this weekend? Because Idk how long it takes for the eggs to drop.
