If someone asks for your opinion on a name for their baby and you say you don't like it? My friend is 21 weeks and I love the first name but I don't like the middle name :( I'm afraid to hurt her feelings

I don't think it's rude to give your opinion of it's asked for, but that being said, I think it's important to be honest without being hurtful. Like saying "I'm not a huge fan of that name" as opposed to "that's so ugly, I would NEVER name my kid that."

It would be more important to me that they love the name for one reason or another. It doesn't have to please me 1 bit but if it's a name you can tell she loves just support her! After all it's their child.

I've been asking my best friend for her opinion because I know she is honest. I have been having a hard time with middle names and she knows that. I think it depends on what kind of relationship you have.

I think it depends on whether or not they have decided on the name for sure or whether it has sentimental meaning. If they're still open to ideas and aren't sure, I think giving your opinion is ok, especially if it's a close friend. But if they've already chosen and are just sharing with you, I'd keep my reaction positive.
