Are you buying an infant car seat or convertible car seat first?

Definitely an infant seat so we can carry baby around in it. I don't want to have to put him/her in and take them out every time we leave and arrive somewhere. If I go to the store and they're sleeping it would be easier to be able to take the whole thing in and let them stay sleeping. We are getting the britax be safe 35 so once they're too big for that one we will get whatever seat comes next. 😊

Convertible. They last longer. And we live in Hawaii where it's super hot all the time. Even dead of winter is usually mid-70's. I didn't plan on ever carrying her around in that big clunky infant seat because she would just sweat to death. Just gonna carry her or baby wear. Even got a very light weight stroller

Convertible car seat. Why buy 2 car seats when 1 is good enough. Made this mistake with my son. So I am planning to get this next baby the chicco nextfit zip convertible car seat. My son who's 16 months loves it, and it's good for newborns.

I for some reason find infant car seats super annoying but they seem to workout nicely for others it's a tricky situation and car seats are expensive or I'm cheap lol

I was planning on convertible and then I read a few car seat review/recommendation pages... Then I decided the convenience of the infant seat outweighed the "savings" of buying convertible and having it last longer.

In my case, I'm planning to have my second about two years after my first, so I may be able to reuse the seat after my first outgrows it.

You should check with your hospital because I know in MA some of those hospitals won't let you take your baby home unless you have an infant car seat to carry them out in.
