When to announce to your job you're pregnant

I just got a new retail job & I plan on working until baby comes.  if it all works out . When do I announce I'm expecting ? Good thing is I'm only 8 weeks & tomorrow is my first day .

I told like 2 people & the next day everybody knew lol. I actually liked how that played out cause I didn't have to have any weird conversations with management. I was just congratulated you know.

I told mine pretty much right away so I could make sure I get the time off needed for appointments. But I have been with my employer for almost 4 years now.

You wouldn't have to inform them until it imposes a problem, end up showing(like an obvious bump), or until you want too. Imposing a problem could be any restriction given by your doctor that hinders you from doing your job such as lifting heavy boxes or standing for countless hours. It will vary for each person when they decide to inform their employer.

All my employers were aware I was pregnant the moment I confirmed it since I was trying to figure out why I had to take so many sicks days. When I was looking for a new job, I waited until the in person interview or second phone interview before letting them know especially since I'm further along. I got hired by an employer who was super accommodating to my situation and is willing to work with me so I can remotely work on leave as a new hire. My new employer had also informed the whole staff when I started too since I'm the only female in my office location. Surprisingly another coworker has a pregnant wife as well. 😁

12 weeks unless you need to tell sooner. I was planning to wait that long, but ended up needing to cut back at work due to some hazards affecting my health. So now everyone knows just short of 9 weeks, but that's alright.
