I live directly across the street from the hospital, should I still get a coming home outfit?

I had my SO pick his two favorite outfits out of all the gifts we received, nothing fancy or meaningful or whatever.

I can't get over that some people spend a ton of money on coming home outfits. How do you even know they'll fit? I have two things packed, a newborn size we got on clearance for $12 plus a $10 off coupon and the next size up is a brand new outfit from a rummage sale we got for $3. Both are things she'll be comfortable in and wear again but also cute. But I'm about as frugal as they come!

I live three streets away and with our first we just put her in a long sleeve onesie and pants outfit. It was November so we had the blanket for the car seat. Our next is due in September so I'm not sure what kind of outfit to buy yet since the weather in NJ has been crazy hot but rainy

We live 15 min away and just got him something he'll get tons of wear out of. Nothing expensive or fancy.

We have a 15 minute drive but baby just in sleep suits. I don't want them in little dresses etc just personal choice. I like baby's warm and comfortable for their many naps. Once they get a few weeks old I start dressing them in outfits.

This is my 4th. My other 3 coming home outfit didn't even fit them. This time around I'm just taking a few onesies, different sizes and for accidents.

I just packed some clothes that he already had, nothing special. I couldn't bring myself to spend any extra money on a coming home outfit. It's going to be special enough to just bring him home.
