My doctor prescribed 4mg of Zofran for my nausea. I'm 11 weeks. I read the it can cause a cleft palate. Is this true? I've taken the medicine but I feel like I should stop. Please comment your thoughts and/or experiences. Should I go ahead and take this?

The studies that say it's bad are outdated.  My pharmacist told me it's fine and that she's been taking it through out her pregnancy.

I took it throughout my pregnancy. My LO is perfectly healthy. I wouldn't have survived my pregnancy without it.

When I was pregnant with my first it was a life saver. I couldn't keep anything down not even water I was so weak and dehydrated I had to be in the hospital  my pee looked like tea they had me on 2 bags on iv fluid for like 5 hours. My daughter is perfectly healthy and very intelligent. Good luck to you. It's your choice but my experience  with zofran was amazing.

Ask your dr about diclegis it's much safer for your baby and for my personally worked far better then zofran

I took it with my daughter 10 years ago and she ended up with a heart murmur. Whether it was the Zofran or not or whether the medication is better now, I don't know but I wouldn't have taken it with this pregnancy just because of the publicity on the subject and my own personal experience. I doubt your OB would INTENTIONALLY give you something that wasn't safe and I'm sure they know about the lawsuits so just do what you're comfortable with. Also, ginger root and ginger candies work wonders.

Personally I would not take it other then people saying it causes birth defects zofran has lawsuits agenst them for it and my mother in law (she's a nurse) said zofran is not one of the better nausha meds there's better ones out there they can give you that will work better and that are safer. The ones I'm on do headaches, help with appetite and the morning sickness its called reglan its alot cheaper and safer

I have three kids, I didn't take zofran with my first two and they were perfectly healthy, but I took it with my third, she had three holes in her heart. They all closed by the time she turned one (thank heavens), but it's a lot of hassle that could've been avoided. I'm also part of a lawsuit against zofran's pharmaceutical company. 
I would never ever touch the stuff again while pregnant.

My cousin took it with 2 of her 4 kids. The two she took it with one had a hole in his heart and the other has Autisium! Her kids she didnt take it with are perfectly fine!
