my 6month old son still isnt sitting up help?!?

what can i do yo help him learn to sit up hes not doing anything any of tge other babies are doing he rolls over and thats it i give him lots of tummy time i help him to sit up and he just falls over still im really worried about him picture for attention

The Baby Sparks app has a few exercises that you can do to help prepare your LO for sitting. It's a neat app with exercises that you can do with your LO to help them prepare to do lots of things - like rolling over, crawling, standing etc..

Every baby is different. I have friends whose babies are 7 months and just learning to roll over. I also have a friend whose baby just learned to sit up on her own and she's 10 months (she never did floor time, afriad of germs). Where my baby is fully crawling and has been for a few weeks. She just turned 6months a few days ago. But she isn't quite sitting up yet, still wobbly.

I wouldn't worry. He looks very healthy and happy, that's all that matters!

My only tip is floor time!!!! Tons and tons and TONS of floor time. My little girl prefers to be alone. On the floor doing her own thing. I do get down there with her as much as possible to talk to her, show her different colors and textures. It's just her thing to hang alone, she's "chill" like that lol.

He doesn't need to be sitting up yet! Totally normal. Functional sitting actually doesn't happen until closer to 7/8 months. This is where they are able to get into sitting on their own instead of a parent placing them there. Creates a much more safe and confident sitter 😊. Just continue lots of floor time and he will get it. Also an FYI that bumbo does NOT teach a baby to sit. It actually does the opposite because they are not learning to use their muscles to stay up. Babies shouldn't be put in those types of sitting devices until they can sit by themselves fully unsupported.

My girl doesn't either! No worries!! I sit with her on the floor sometimes and will sit her up between my legs to practice. Don't worry though! Babies all do things on their own timeline!

Don't rush it, he will do it when he's ready. All the babies around me started sitting up at 4 months and my little guy still doesn't and he's 6 months. He barely rolls over yet. Everyone says the norm is 7 to 8 months for them to sit up unassisted. Remember, he will never be that little ever again so enjoy the fact that he still needs you to help him for a month or 2.

My little guy will be 6 months on the 27th and he's not sitting up along either. He sits up with assistance. All babies are different...he will do it when he's ready!

Honestly my girl surprised me when she did it. We use the bumbo a lot too but we decided to put her on the carpet and be there holding her arms and hands to help her balance. It only took two days with support before she was able to do it on her own and now she sits up like a champ!! Good luck!

My pediatrician says sitting up is not considered delayed until 9 months and the norm is 7-8 so he is fine. Just keep working on it with him. I let my son grab my fingers when he is laying down and I pull him up (like doing sit-ups) to help strengthen his an muscles. He can sit up well enough to sit in a shopping cart with the safety strap for extra support and he is 6.5 months. It was just in the past week that he was able to do that.
