Is low fetal movement common during later stages of pregnancy?

pregnancy?" /> The last few he's my boy has been very quiet in my belly.. he's usually moving around certain times of the day around the same time but since yesterday he hasn't been his overly active self. I feel him here and there when I push on my belly.. but nothing extreme.. what do you mommies think?

I think the people that said "no" only said it because they didn't experience it themselves. However, you asked if it was common and it is. This is because the baby doesn't have very much room to move around in the late stages of pregnancy. It's very very common. My doctor even told me this at my 23 week appointment on Wednesday. He said "You probably feel him a lot now, but just know it's common for them to not move around later on." I also have a friend who is 39 weeks pregnant and she went to the ER because she thought something was wrong. Baby is fine, just squished in there haha.

Anything like this should be discussed with your dr. It CAN be normal but it ALSO could mean complications. I had decreased movement and my baby boy was wrapped in the cord and in distress. Any change in activity or movement should be reported to you dr ASAP. My baby was born via emergency c-section and spent 9 days in the NICU.
