Dog licking itself

We have a German shepherd whom we love. Of course, she's a dog so she licks herself. This. Drives. Me. Crazy. For some reason when she starts licking her "private" areas I snap my fingers and tell her to stop. My husband gets on to me saying "she's just being a dog!" But I can't handle it.

When she licks her paws or something it doesn't bother me so much, but when she licks her private areas I just cant handle the sound and the idea of it all.

Does anyone else feel this way???
