Newly adopted stray kitten
I've been begging for a kitten for a while now, since before I found out I was pregnant, because I'm not allowed to work (I'm an American living in a foreign country) and I get so bored at home. My SO found a stray kitten yesterday and I was beyond excited when he surprised me with him!!
We are aware of the dangers of toxoplasmosis & changing his litter box, and my SO has already told me that he doesn't want me going anywhere near the litter box.
We will be taking him to the vet tomorrow to get his shots & to make sure he's a healthy lil' guy, but I was wondering if there were any other precautions I should be taking? I'm 9 weeks pregnant if that makes any difference. A friend thinks that her kitten's fur made her have 2 miscarriages (which I'm skeptical about, but it also slightly worries me).
any advice or similar experiences?
