5 Days Post Partum?

Question

How did you feel 5 days post partum? I have two college midterms 5 days after my baby is due and am wondering what I might expect my body to feel like and how I will manage going back to school so soon ha. 
I recognize that I may not have the baby on my due date, but would like to know just as a reference point. 
Any other comments about what the healing process is like even from day one to when you felt "normal" again or tips for a quick recovery would be so appreciated! Thanks :)

I was hurting a lot. Really sore and could barely walk and was still pretty swollen. I only had two small tears from the forceps that had to be used to help deliver my baby. I'm 16 days postpartum and sore still but I can walk, use the restroom without wanting to cry. Just rest when you can. I know it's hard with a new baby but I still just sit and lay down with my baby when she sleeps.

It definitely depends on how you have your baby.  I had mine via c section and am about a week out. I've stopped taking all my pain meds and am walking around pretty easily. Totally sleep deprived though.  I would work with you're prof so they're up to date with what's going on.

I didn't feel too great to be fair! Day 5 was the day after my milk came in so my boobs were heavy and very tender! My bits down below felt proper achey and bleeding was still heavy due to breastfeeding! I had layers of pads everywhere, up top for milk and down below for blood. I was extremely run down tired wise because we'd had so many visitors and I never had time for afternoon naps, and my belly was still super saggy and hadn't shrunk down much! 5 days isn't a lot of time to heal! X

Exhausted! I had a c section, my recovery from that was good, but 5 days after abdominal surgery is about as good as it sounds. By then milk has come in full force, boobs are huge and hurt like hell, milk leaks almost constantly, bleeding after birth is still pretty bad. It isn't pretty. I hope you can arrange something else. Good luck either way.

Tired and sore!!! At this point I was still bleeding heavily which I normally do for 5-7 days. I started to come around at about the 2 week mark and for babies 2 & 3 the bleeding had gone to spotting here and there if present at all. At 5 days it still hurt to sit for long periods of time. Good luck with your finals!! I could not imagine having to take finals five days after having a baby. Way to go for your set determination!!!! I hope you ace them 😉💯%!

I felt great just a little sore down there and had to sit down gently. My muscles were sore everywhere also from pushing but overall I was out and about by 3 days postpartum.

I was sleep deprived to the point that I thought my baby was possessed and unable to sit down due to all the stitches.. 😬
