Mommas who've been induced?

Question

I am pregnant with baby #3 and being induced for the first time thursday. Is it true that the more you dilate on your own prior to induction the smoother the induction will go? I've never had a slow difficult labor.

I was 1cm and & barely thinned, they inserted a pill to soften my cervix, and my body went I to labor on its own, no pitocin needed, and baby was here in 12 hours start to finish :-) good luck! I wish you a safe and quick delivery!

I was 3cm dilated the morning I was induced. (Aug 19th) Seems like it might be true after reading through the comments. I labored for 5 hours and pushed for 7 minutes. It was quick and actually painless. But everyone is different and our bodies react in ways we will never understand . Don't stress! If your going in 0cm or 10cm dilated, your body will tell you when it's ready. Good luck and congrats!!

I had baby #3 was born last Friday. I was 5 cm dilated 80% effaced before my induction. I had a very fast labor. Water broken at 9:50 am at 6 cm dilated with pitocin and had her at 10:53 am. My epidural did not take effect at all so I wouldn't call mine smooth lol.

I was induced with my second and 3rd. With my second I was only at like 1 1/2 and I had him the same day. With my 3rd I was induced at 3 cm and it was pretty fast once my water broke. Not to bad. I even went longer this time without an epidural:)

It depends I went fast..I started at 12noon and had baby at 7:38pm went and started at 2cms and 60%effaced at 40+5!! So it all depends..I went all Natural and without any pain meds..and I was on Pitocin!

It depends on your body. I was 3cm and 90% effaced and it took 16 hours I'm labor. But only two pushes when the time came.

It really depends on the person! I was 70% effaced, 1cm dialated and started with 12hrs of cervidil, did nothing, then 4 different rounds of cytotech. 41 hrs later, i am still where i started! Some women take easily to induction, some women dont! I sure as hell dont!

I wasn't dilated when I was induced, they inserted a small pill to soften my cervix, an hour later I was dilated a one, then did it again. Finally I was almost a 2 after hours and they inserted a fully bulb (like a catheter) inside me to help my cervix dilate faster and I started feeling contractions then and got the epidural. 2 hours later I was dilated a 4 and the bulb was removed and few hours later I had my baby girl at 8lbs 5oz 20 1/2 inches long💕

It's very true!!! I was zero. 42 hour induction that ended in crash emergency c section.
