Question

So when I was visiting my GYNO I was telling about how sex really hurts and I don't like to have it, at all really. I told her how it makes my boyfriend upset and how he thinks it's because I don't like him. She told me that even tho it hurts sometimes you just gave to please your man because it's the right women thing to do. 
I don't agree with this because 1) sex should feel good, right? 2) i please my man without having sec with him and I shouldn't be obligated to have sex when it hurts?? 3) she didn't even give me ideas on why it hurts so bad & how to make it stop. She didn't even examine my vagina. I've never had my vagina looked at by a doctor and I'm 24.
What should I do? Switch doctors? Do you agree that I should suck up painful sex to please my man??

Switch doctors ASAP. You are NEVER obligated to have sex just to "please your man" that is AWFUL. File a complaint. Seriously.

I would switch doctors ASAP. The points she made are valid in a few cases. But there could be a lot of reasons you are having pain. And you need an exam. You should've had one after becoming sexually active of after turning 21. You also need to be getting checked for STD's and making sure everything is ok.

That is awful. People tried to tell me this when I was being manipulated (antidepressants from PTSD killed my libido) and if a doctor had told me this, I can't imagine what it would have done to my already fragile mental state

Are you sure this person is actually a doctor 😒 What the hell DOES she do if she's never examined you?! You should be getting pap smears, not outdated and absurd advice. You should definitely switch.

Yes, switching doctors would be a good idea. Sex should feel good for both parties involved. A different doctor can tell you why it's happening, and help you fix it so that if you want to have sex, you can and don't have to feel pain.
