First time mom not planning for more?

Question

I am first time mom my little guy is 7 weeks old. I am 36 and thinking that I don't want to have more children. Not because I dont want more but due to my age, finances and the higher risk of baby having DS and or other issues. I'm happy with my boy I adore him and want to make his life amazing. Just wondering if there are any other FTM In my age group or not that feel the same?

I only wanted the one child, and after two postpartum hemorrhages (one within a day of giving birth, one 4 weeks + 3 days later) I am definitely sticking with that decision.  I am so annoyed that the doctors were hesitant to treat me for the hemorrhages because it could impact my future fertility.  Cause waiting and seeing, which could have led to me just bleeding to death, is really better for me than the possibility I can't have a second child.  Dead Mom can't have a baby anyway!

I'm 33 and orginally I wanted two kids as I'm an only child and I really wanted my daughter to have a sibling as I was lonely as a child. But now, I am happy to just have the one, as is my husband. I hated being pregnant and the change in hormones made me very sad at times. I don't think I could cope being pregnant a second time with a young child. And I've been a bit depressed since I've had my daughter - I even stopped breastfeeding to get my hormones back to normal (don't judge me please as it was the hardest decision of my life), and I really don't want to do it all again.

My husband and I also want to make sure that we can give our daughter everything - private school, sports, family holidays. We probably wouldn't be able to do it with two kids.

I'm 29 and originally wanted my son to have a sibling but after dealing with severe postpartum depression and major troubles with breastfeeding I really don't want to do this all again. I also would have to work full time to make enough money to support two babies. With just the one I can get away with working part time and be able to spend more time with him.

I'm 32. Wanted two kids. Pretty easy uncomplicated pregnancy and birth other than a second degree tear. Baby is almost 8weeks and I'm starting to doubt wanting a second child. I really can't fathom going through all this again. Including breastfeeding and the newborn phase. Kind of looking forward to just moving on to my next stage of life. Raising my daughter and being a happy family of three. Who knows. I may change my mind in a few years but I really don't want to do all this again around age 35...

I'm only 25 and we only want to have one. Ours are mostly due to financial reasons. We want our child in private school and be able to afford to put her in lessons and activities. Then my traumatic birth experience sealed the deal on wanting one child.

I'm 32 and also a FTM with a 7 week old son. I honestly hated being pregnant and had complications so we decided he will be our only child. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. Kids are expensive and this allows us to provide more for him and also remain working professionals - which means he gets our undivided attention when we're not working, rather than having to juggle multiple kids and their schedules. I think having kids "later in life" also means you're used to a different lifestyle and only having one allows us to keep that to a degree.

I just turned 27 a few days ago and I have a little girl who will be one month old on the 29th of this month. I am 99.9% sure I don't want any more. I had an awful and traumatizing delivery experience that included two failed epidurals and me begging for a c section after 36 hours of labor only to hemorrhage after and need a blood transfusion. Also the postpartum feelings I had for 2 weeks when I came home were terrible. I also developed preeclampsia the DAY I went in labor. After all that I just can't see myself going thru pregnancy again. My whole pregnancy was pretty good up until all that. But I'm not risking my life just to bring another baby into the world. One is enough for me. I hope my boyfriend will understand someday when he wants more.

I'm 28. Originally wanted two but after realizing the financial part of having children id rather just have one. I've also read that couples are happier with only one child. And now that I have my son I like the idea of him getting 100% of the attention rather than having to share it.  He also has a vascular malformation that will need medical attention as he ages and a friend of mine screened positive for Down syndrome so the reality of health concerns that could arise with a second child I'd rather not have to worry about it.

Going thru the exact same thing here. 35 first time mom, definitely don't want more. I would adopt tho.
