Breech babies and ECV?

Question

Has anyone had this or anticipating having to do an ECV. Doc says I still have time for baby to turn but I was watching a video of an ECV and I'm like traumatized it looks awful and I think I'd rather the c-section!!!

I'm with you! I have 4 more weeks if she doesn't move he wants to do it and I just don't think that's gonna happen. It's a 50% chance of it actually working so I don't think I want to put myself and baby through that!

I'm right there with you! If she doesn't flip in the next 3 weeks they are going to try it. I'm just mentally preparing myself for a c-section just incase it doesn't work. I also thought the videos make it look really uncofortable and painful. But I have a good friend that had it done by an old school midwife and she said it didn't hurt her at all. She said he was so gentle the baby just easily flipped. I'm not sure I'm going to have the same experiance, and my dr said the placenta is next to my stomach wall making it harder for them to do it.

I promise you wouldn't. I had an unsuccessful ECV, and a csection.

The worst part about the ECV is actually the medicine they give you to relax your uterus, because it makes your heart feel sooo weird. Like you are running a marathon while laying flat! And yes it hurts when they manipulate but if it's successful it's so worth it! My uterus has a septum (hard spot) so no matter how hard they pushed my son's head wasn't moving. Woke the next morning with bruises and was sore but it was no biggie. If they had been able to move him I really feel like it would have been absolutely no big deal! I would 1000% recommend attempting it!

That being said, my csection was not that bad, but it comes with a lot of "baggage" for the next child that I would rather not deal with. Like, I'm lucky and will be able to attempt a vaginal birth this time, but if I have a csection I won't get to pick up my toddler for 6 weeks! Plus your milk is usually delayed. (Mine came in on day 4 as opposed to like 2)
