When to have visitors at home?!

I've already decided I don't want visitors at the hospital. When did you have visitors at home?

I let everyone come to the hospital. It's nice because they never stay long, and I didn't feel like I had to be a hostess. Also, if anyone is sick and coughing, the nurses kick them out, and every time they came in they'd ask everyone if they'd washed their hands. 
When we got home, we only had immediate family visit occasionally for the next six weeks. It was amazing.

Mine was waiting for me when I got home . I told my husband this time when I come home I want a day or to before people come , because I want some family time and I get stressed my first day home with a lot of people my home

I originally didn't want any visitors at hospital. But at last minute we decided to let just our parents visit in the hospital. They didn't stay too long and then we had a few days to ourselves at home before people started bugging us to see the baby. :)

We're allowing grandparents only at the hospital - not in the waiting room during labor or immediately after.

Then no visitors for at least a few days to a week. First for both of us and we need some time for bonding & figuring out what we're doing! I'm also one of those people who want to be left alone when I'm not feeling well.

If you have lots of family and friends locally, would you consider having one meet the baby gathering instead of waves of visitors?  That's what we did, just a little dessert and wine gathering for a couple of hours, (no one held the baby except us and our moms), then just had immediate family only visit here and there. It was easier than having lots of people wanting to come visit at different times.

We are only having family and God parents visit in hospital. Then after a few days of getting used to our routine, we will make plans to see friends and such.

I wish I had a choice. My husbands family (all 5 of them) are going to be staying at my home  for a whole week. I'm hoping I can talk them out of it. Its my first and his 3rd I'd like my mom to be the one here to help out and not his whole family distorting my home.

I had people over the day I got home and every day for the first few days. It was really overwhelming though and I wish I would've put my foot down but everyone was so excited to meet him. I suggest waiting a few days if you feel overwhelmed. Baby will still be there for everyone to see ☺️

My family was waiting on me when I got home lol I love my family and they all stay over and cook clean and help! I'm telling you it's a blessing and you get some sleep!
