How do I let go?

I have a three year old who is my absolute world. His father and I were together for 4 years but recently split. 
He's been going to his dad's on the weekends and I struggle with it Every time. I broke down today crying. I dont know how to let go. Things between his father and I are good, i trust him.. but I miss my son dearly..

I'm so sorry, that is very hard. It's okay to be sad about it, and great that he's in good hands. Is there anything you've been wanting to do (maybe something new) that you can sign up for or try on the days he's gone? Maybe then you two will also have more stories to share and catch up on when he's back in your arms. Hugs.
