I personally never noticed a difference. I haven't had ratties in awhile but the only thing I noticed is our males were always more snuggley than the females.

There is no difference when I comes to dumbo or top eared rats. I own rats I currently have 5 I have 2 dumbo and the rest are tops. They are all daft as a brush and lovely. It all depends on genetics and how they where bred and raised. I've had girls that are so scared of everything and I have one now called Evie she came to me pregnant a terrified little thing who is still pretty shy but has gotten better since she's been in my care and here babies did fantastically I have 2 of them and believe I did a fab job and so did she. It's all about interaction and care. Although I do have a special place in my heart for dumbos they are just the cutest things 😊

The biggest difference is ear shape. Some people claim Dumbo rats are more docile than Standard Fancy Rats, but you can still have an ill-tempered Dumbo so I would put more stock in actual individual personality not breed.
