Endometriosis?

I'm 15 years old and I first got my period when I was 11. For the past 4 years I've had excruciating period cramps, nausea, dizziness and even vomiting during the first few days of my period. I've had to miss school and work because of it. I'm scared that I might have endometriosis because it does run in my family. Can someone please give me advice on this?

Exactly same thing happened to me. Got my period at 10, progressively got worse, got all those symptoms and was told by doctors, teachers, family and friends that those symptoms are normal. I spent my whole adolescent thinking feeling like dying everytime Aunt Flo came to town was normal and that I was just a weakling.

It was only when I started having sex I started to get pain, like hitting a brick wall feeling. I thought it was virginity issues and it would go away. It wasn't until I was 20 that I decided "alright I've had enough, sex shouldn't be painful". So I googled the best chronic pain gynaecologist I could find in my city and booked an appointment. She asked me a few questions, mainly about my periods. I was a little confused. What has this got to do with painful sex? Turns out it's actually a symptom of endometriosis. She booked a lapraoscopy the following week, and haven't had any symptoms or PAIN!!!! Since then. I definitely recommend talking to a doctor or gyno regarding the possibility

Recently, this year my period cramps got so bad especially on the first day and second day of my period - the pain is absolutely horrible. I was prescribed mefenamic acid, as I was having to take paracetamol every month for two days every four hours to the recommended dosage. I thought way too much paracetamol can be really bad for you, and I thought it was concerning about the pain, so I went to the doctors and they gave me the mefenamic acid ... Never said much. I've not started taking them yet, as you're supposed to take them just before your period, or they most likely don't work. Aswell, on the first day of my period - I go to eat and when I put something in my mouth I go to be sick, although I've not been sick with my period before. I just get nausea on the first day. How do you manage with your period pains?

I am currently going through the same thing. I got my first period when I was 10 I am now almost 15 and have missed lots of school and activities because of it. I went to my normal doctor she ordered blood work which I am getting done this week and she also is having me go to the gynecologist. I am kinda scared for that appointment because I have never gone to the gynecologist before. After that appointment I will hopefully have a diagnosis. I think it is endometriosis because it runs in my family as well, but I’m not sure. Sometimes it can be really hard because I  feel like sometimes I can’t tell some of my friends why I am missing school or am going to the doctors again, so it’s really nice to know there are other people who are going through it too. I wish I could you some advice but I probably need as much as you do. I hope all goes well with you. Stay strong  💪🏻
