implant / painful periods

Does anyone know if having the implant can always stop your periods? I know two people that have it and their periods have stopped completely. Is it the same for everyone, or is it just how your body acts to it? As I get extremely painful cramp on the first / second day of my period, and I'm looking for  some solutions etc that could maybe help with it
