Are you scared to leave your house because all your baby does is cry?

I'm afraid to leave my house because I'm worried all my daughter will do is scream in her car seat during the drive or fuss like crazy once we get to our destination. The thought of both (and the reality if they happen) gives me really bad anxiety. It makes me really sad because this isn't how I pictured my maternity leave. Anyone else feel the same way?

I'm pretty nervous about leaving the house with her, but my husband and I try to "practice" by going to places at times when they're not busy. Last Monday we went to a restaurant at 3pm and had a meal. I've also been to babies r us with her as well because it's a non-threatening place to take a baby. I try to make sure she has just eaten so is a bit sleepy and I make sure to bring some formula with me just in case all hell breaks loose or I'm out longer than planned.

A lot of babies are soothed by the motion of the car. Mine calms down as soon as we're outside (probably the heat and humidity) and is super chill as long as the car is moving.

Mine fusses less when we are out. I also openly breastfeed in public wherever I am so if he gets fussy I just put him to the breast. We have 2 other kids so staying home not an option. I have literally walked around target nursing while shopping.

I was so scared for the first few weeks, I wouldn't go anywhere alone and then would get so stressed out if she started crying. Recently it's been getting much better. We took a trip about 45 mins away last week, just the 2 of us, and she did awesome! She's starting to like the car more because she loves looking out the back window, and will usually fall asleep. As far as shopping or whatever, I couldn't do it without our boba wrap! She falls asleep INSTANTLY. I could shop for hours and she would snooze away. It definitely gets easier and less stressful the more you get out and do stuff. I just try to remember, babies cry. Almost everyone has been in my shoes before and understands, and if not, sorry. 🤗

I seriously feel EXACTLY how you feel!! I feel like a prisoner!! 😢
My little one is 6 weeks old and has colic, so it's been really tough! I have just tried to make quick little outings with her and always someone with me for now. We have conquered a trip to Target, Publix, Home Depot and Marshalls!! Start with little 1 hour trips right after a feeding, and it will start to feel better!

My boys were both extremely cranky babies and I found even if they cried in the car, they were perfect angels in public haha (still that way at 2 and 4) so I went any and everywhere I could in th beginning, target, kohls, babies r us, mall, anywhere inside and could keep me occupied, had chairs to sit and nurse, and since I went in early afternoon it wasn't very crowded. Just bite the bullet and try, u migh be surprised

Baby and I went on a quick run to the drive thru since we were alone and I had nothing to eat for dinner. He was fine the entire way there but then cried when the car stopped at a light. I kept talking and singing to him. We were home rather quickly and he calmed down. We went to Walmart this past weekend and he freaked out in his stroller, had to leave the checkout and take him out of his stroller to calm him. Luckily my husband was with us so we didn't hold anyone else up. I'm still scared to go out with him alone. He's 6 weeks old.

It depends on your baby. My baby #1 and #3 would fall asleep in the car. Baby #2 would scream. It sucked, but he eventually outgrew it. But all of them liked the stroller. So #2 would scream in the car but would fall asleep in the stroller once we got there.  You could also try a baby wrap/carrier at home,  if baby likes it he or she will likely like it outside the house too. Could you do a test - trip and go someplace close by that you could leave if you're not able to calm him or her down?

Most babies love car rides honestly. And my baby behaves 100x better when we are out! I put him in a wrap and he sleeps on my chest. If he seems fussy at home,I know its time to make a Walmart run to put him to sleep
